COLLEAGUES at two Basingstoke law firms pulled in the pounds for a good cause by growing some whiskers.
At QualitySolicitors Clarke & Son, company and commercial solicitor Will Anderson and trainee solicitor Julian Bertrant raised more than £200 by taking part in the Movember initiative which raises awareness of, and funds for research into, men’s health issues.
Will said: “I’ve still got my moustache – it’s grown on me – but my girlfriend isn’t a fan.
“It’s my third year taking part in Movember and it was Julian’s second year. It’s been a great talking point, especially when you see guys who you think wouldn’t normally have a moustache, raising awareness of men’s health issues, especially prostate and testicular cancer.”
Not to be outdone three colleagues from Phillips Solicitors spent a month growing moustaches only to have them shaved off last Friday at Turkuaz, the Turkish barber shop, in London Street.
Solicitors Ben Pearson, who specialises in litigation, Ben Holden who is a wills and probate specialist, and admin executive Oliver Jarrett-Kerr, together raised £265.
Funds raised go to support men’s health initiatives.
