Funds raised for Naomi House
BRAIN Chase Coles solicitors’ Christmas get-together with business contacts raised funds and gifts for Naomi House children’s hospice.
Having supported the charity throughout the year, the firm invited various representatives of local businesses to a fundraising Christmas drinks party.
Those invited were requested to come bearing gifts – not incense or myrrh, or even additional supplies of mulled wine, but presents for children or young people at Naomi House, chosen from a list provided by the hospice.
There was a raffle, with a top prize of a TaylorMade R11S Driver golf club worth more than £200, plus a guess the weight of a Christmas cake competition, and these two elements raised £250.
“We were astounded by the generosity of all those invited,” said Jon Coles, a partner at Brain Chase Coles. “It’s great to celebrate Christmas with business contacts, but linking with Naomi House as well added a whole new dimension.”
Naomi House fundraiser Tina Starbuck gave a presentation explaining the importance of the hospice’s services for life-limited children.
She said: “The children who come to Naomi House won’t experience that many Christmases so we try to make sure that each festive season is packed with events and moments that they, and their families, will cherish.
“We are incredibly grateful to Brain Chase Coles and all the firms involved for their kindness in donating so many presents and raising substantial funds.”
