TV travel presenter in Winchester to open Kathmandu and Diddly Do
A WINCHESTER woman has turned a love of travel into a business venture.
Wendy Smith has opened a pop-up shop in Stockbridge Road near the railway station.
The launch party at Kathmandu and Diddly Do was last Friday (MARCH15) with TV travel presenter Charlie Ottley, from Tichborne, cutting the ribbon.
Wendy, who also works as a hairdresser, said: “I'm selling goods from places like Nepal, India and Morocco. I travel extensively and have found my own sources, families I have got to know since travelling.
“It started when I would bring things back and friends said they like them.”
The shop will be open 10.30am to 5.30pm Tuesdays to Saturdays and 10am-2pm on Sundays.
Wendy also sells her wares at Winchester street market and festivals but saw the chance to broaden her market by taking on the shop with a high footfall and much passing traffic.
