The Thomas Lord in West Meon has been shortlisted in theThe Good Food Guide Readers' Restaurant of the Year Awards 2013
A HAMPSHIRE pub has been shortlisted for a national food award.
The Thomas Lord in West Meon is the only Hampshire representative on the list in The Good Food Guide Readers' Restaurant of the Year awards 2013.
Priding itself on locally-sourced ingredients, the pub has its own allotment and chicken-run, and has built a loyal following since its refurbishment last summer.
The Thomas Lord is named after the founder of Lord’s Cricket Ground, who was buried in West Meon, having spent his final years there.
Pub manager, Clare Winterbottom, said: “We get some wonderful feedback from our guests and it really does make all our hard work worthwhile when we receive such fabulous reviews from them. This nomination also comes from members of the public so it’s genuinely exciting for us to be on the shortlist."
The awards champion local eateries and recognise good food and service at restaurants, pubs and cafés across ten UK regions.
