Africa water role for Fareham IT firm
3:20pm Tuesday 22nd October 2013 in Hampshire Business
A Fareham company has done its bit to ensure a community in Africa can have access to clean fresh drinking water through a well.
Cobweb Solutions, Europe’s largest Hosted Microsoft Exchange provider, has taken part in a campaign by AquAid to help build life-sustaining resources for those who need it most.
It has sponsored the building of a well, called an elephant pump, adapted by the charity from a 2,000 year-old Chinese design, which can be constructed and maintained using materials locally available in remote African communities.
Founded in 1996, Cobweb Solutions supplies secure and uninterrupted access to the Internet, email and applications for more than 5,000 business customers.
Mark Davies, sales and marketing director, said: “We are proud of our involvement in helping the fantastic work of this charity.”
