The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents is the country’s leading safety charity, with a mission to save lives and reduce injuries. We have been at the heart of accident prevention in the UK and around the world for nearly 100 years and our work is relevant to all stages of life, encompassing safety in the home, on the road, at work, during leisure activities and in schools and colleges.

We respond to thousands of media enquiries each year and we also communicate directly with members of the public, policy-makers and professionals via our websites, journals and our growing social media presence.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced press officer with a proactive attitude to working with the media, in all its forms, to engage the public at large in our life-saving subject. You will join us at an exciting time, as we look ahead to our centenary and as we seek to step up media engagement to ensure accident prevention is recognised as a public health priority and also as something that everyone can be part of.

You should have a flair for producing engaging material in a variety of styles, from punchy social media content to 2,500-word features for a professional audience - and everything in between!
