UP to 40 jobs are being created at a new bargain store that is set to open this Saturday.
Home Bargains is investing around £500,000 in the Old Winchester Road store, which will be officially opened by Basingstoke and Deane Mayor, Councillor Dan Putty.
The store is the latest among 330 outlets across the UK.
Operations director Joe Morris, said: “We’re excited to be opening our first store in Basingstoke and look forward to welcoming new customers through our doors.”
The 25,000 sq ft store, which is at a former Staples site, will be one of Home Bargains’ largest outlets, giving Basingstoke shoppers the chance to get their hands on bargains, including a great selection of homewares.
Home Bargains also stocks a range of top branded goods, including health and beauty, home style goods, sweets, snacks and drinks.
Joe added: “Old Winchester Road will be a great location for us – we’re thrilled to be in a position to offer locals top branded goods, at exceptionally low prices.”
