REALITY HR has been shortlisted in two categories of the Working Mums Top Employer Awards 2014.

The awards recognise employers of all kinds who are progressive in their flexible working practices and proactive in seeking to retain talented staff, particularly working parents who want to combine successful careers with being a parent.

Of the eight categories in the Working Mums Awards, Reality HR, based at The Manor House, in Lutyens Close, Chineham, has been shortlisted in the SME 1-25 employees and Talent Attraction categories.

Managing director Laura Davis, is delighted with the news, which she sees in many ways payback for the hard work she has put into building the company since its formation in 2004.

The business grew steadily in the first few years until Laura acted on her hunch that there must be many experienced HR professionals who have taken career breaks to raise families.

Laura developed the Reality HR Flexible Working Hour’s model giving all team members the flexibility to manage their working lives around their family commitments.

The business has grown significantly over the years and provides an outsourced HR function to more than 70 clients across the South. Laura now has a team of 15 highly qualified HR specialists.

She said: “We’re thrilled to be shortlisted in two categories of such prestigious awards.

“We have always been very committed to employing the very best talent for the business and realised very early on that many of those skills were held by mums.

“Our Flexible Working Hour’s model has worked well for the team, the business and most importantly, our clients, who often tell us how much they appreciate being able to contact consultants at flexible times.”

Reality HR has to wait until 4 November 4 to find out the results of the Working Mums Awards, which will be announced at a glittering ceremony at The Soho Hotel, in London.
