A HAMPSHIRE transport firm is in the driving seat to ensure Southampton's newest residents have a smooth ride into the city.

Williams Shipping has been named as the official logistics partner of Marwell's Zany Zebras public art extravaganza.

The business, which provides marine and port services, will be key for the installation of the life-sized zebra sculptures across the city next summer.

The zebras will form part of a ten-week trail throughout city streets and parks from July 2016, entertaining both residents and tourists.

Jonathan Williams, director of Williams Transport Services, said: “We had so much fun being part of the herd in 2013 that when we found out about Marwell’s Zany Zebras this year we didn’t want to miss out! We are proud to sponsor and be transport partners again and support a great cause!”

Kirstie Mathieson, project manager for Marwell’s Zany Zebras said: “We are delighted to be working with Williams Shipping again. Their support of Go! Rhinos was invaluable – we really couldn’t have done the project without them! To have Jonathan and his team on board as our Logistics partner once again is a huge boost to the project. Our zebra sculptures will certainly be in safe hands."
