BUSINESSES across north Hampshire celebrated the fruits of their labour last night at this year’s INSPIRE business awards.

Hundreds of business people from across the north of the county attended the glittering event held at the Hampshire Court Hotel, where the proud winners accepted their trophies on stage from compere’s journalist Michael Buerk and Destination Basingstoke’s Felicity Edwards.

The evening saw awards handed out across 12 different categories including New Business of the Year, Employee of the Year and the Service Excellence Award.

The showcase award of Business of the Year was won by R.Collard Ltd, which is run by Hook based British Touring Car driver Rob Collard and his Son Rick.

Mr Collard snr, who runs the demolition and waste management company told The Gazette: “It is really incredible to have won this award.

“We continue to grow as a business and it shows that from tiny acorns great Oak trees can grow.”
