Hampshire-based civil engineering contractor Oliver & Brown has invested in its continuing growth with a £150,000 purchase of construction equipment from Selwood’s plant hire and sales team.

Oliver & Brown, established by the Oliver family more than 30 years ago has a long-standing relationship with plant hire experts at Selwood’s head office in Chandler’s Ford, has bought a Hyundai HX140 tracked excavator, two Thwaites six-tonne front tip dumpers and two Hamm HD12vv double drum rollers.

The purchase ensures that Oliver & Brown will own a portion of its plant requirement, and is the first part of a larger package that will see Selwood supply the company with more equipment over the coming year.

The sale, made by Selwood plant hire specialist John Knight, also includes a maintenance and servicing agreemen.

Directors Adam Oliver and Rob Brown (pictured, with John Knight of Selwood), visited Selwood’s head office to view the new equipment, which has been liveried with the Oliver & Brown logo, before it was delivered to various operational sites across the south.

Adam said: “As we continue to grow, it was time for us to invest in our own fleet of some of the most commonly-used plant. As we have a long relationship with Selwood, it made perfect sense to do this through John, who has worked with our family for many years.
