DELIVERY company, Deliveroo, has released new figures that show a 1,891% growth rate in orders in Basingstoke over the last 12 months.

As a result of this growth rate Deliveroo is looking to employ 30 more riders in Basingstoke, as it believes growth is set to continue over the next year.

Over the past 12 months the number of riders in Basingstoke has increased to more than 70.

Deliveroo also claims that the 20 restaurants which use Deliveroo see their revenue boosted by up to 30% and, as a result, are able to hire more people and expand into new premises.

Alex Menicou, owner of Festival Street Kitchen, said: “Working with partners like Deliveroo really helps our business and enables us, a small independent restaurant, to reach a much bigger audience.

“In the winter months especially, the support from Deliveroo makes a real difference to our bottom line and helps the us, little guys, compete with the big guys.”

Deliveroo have said that current riders who successfully refer someone new to Deliveroo in Basingstoke will receive up to £200 as a reward for their referral.

Dan Warne, UK managing director of Deliveroo said: “Our rapid growth in Basingstoke is great for foodies, families and feasters as it means customers have more choice, restaurants are able to increase their revenue and riders have opportunity to choose well-paid, flexible work.

“Deliveroo’s fundraising will mean greater growth and new innovations, more restaurants will be able to deliver their food direct to people’s homes or offices and there will be more work available for people who want to be riders and fit their work around their life rather than trying to fit life around their work.

“Now, right across Basingstoke we are looking for more riders to join us as we grow, so we can deliver even more amazing food to our brilliant customers.”
