IT’S the popular Winchester coffee shop that provides artisan coffee and cakes from a quirky mobile pod in the city centre.

Now, Flat Whites on Market Street will soon be opening a new outlet at a more permanent location for coffee lovers to enjoy.

The business, which currently operates out of a van, will be opening a brand new shop at 1 Stonemasons Court, in Parchment Street.

The unit is currently undergoing a refit ahead of the launch.

The coffee outlet has been working with Goadsby Commercial to secure the new unit.

The move to new premises will allow the company to to hire five more staff, bringing their total to 15.

Owner of Flat Whites Abbey Ewer said: “We would like to thank the people of Winchester for their continued support , and helping us achieve our dream.

“It’s one step closer to world domination.”

Though Flat Whites are have no current plans to expand the business any further at this time, Ms. Ewer said that they were considering opening another shop in a different town eventually.

“But only when the time was right,” she added.

Michael Lord, of Goadsby Commercial in Winchester, said: “We are very excited about Flat Whites opening a retail unit in Winchester.

“We know they will make a great addition to Stonemasons Court and continue to thrive along the high street in their mobile pod.”

The move to a permanent unit will see the outlet competing with chain shops including Pret a Manger, Cafe Nero and Starbucks, as well as independent coffee shops such as Caracoli.
