A Hampshire law firm has announced the name of its next managing partner.

Matthew Barrow will take the helm at Lester Aldridge from May 1.

He joined the firm as a trainee in 1999 and has been head of the real estate group for the past seven years during which time it has added ten per cent growth each year. He was unanimously elected to this new position.

Matthew takes over from Michael Giddins who has been managing partner for 12 years.

Michael said: “Having been with Lester Aldridge for 25 years – and managing partner for the last 12 years – it is time for me to hand over the reins and I am very happy to confirm that Matthew will be taking over in May.

"The firm is entrusted with some of the best and most challenging work for many of the region’s forward-looking organisations and individuals. We are one of the most profitable law firms in the south, employing more than 350 people, and I know that Matthew will lead the firm in its continued success.”

Lester Aldridge is a full-service law firm with offices in Bournemouth, Southampton and London.

Matthew said: “It is a great privilege to be appointed as Managing Partner at such an exciting time. Having spent my whole career at Lester Aldridge, I am determined that we will maintain the winning formula that makes us so special – for both our clients and our people. What Michael has achieved is very impressive and, thanks to his leadership, the firm is in an excellent position. I’m delighted to have the chance to build on this success and see us go from strength to strength.”
