SMALL businesses are set to receive a helping hand from a multi-talented mum, who has come up with a way of using her skills to support others.

Katie Westbrook has just launched a personal assistant company, with the idea of offering her time and experience to local small business owners, consultants, freelancers and home-owners in Andover and Southampton.

Pink Spaghetti Southampton and Andover will offer businesses the chance to pay as they go.

“There are a burgeoning number of micro-businesses across South and West Hampshire,” explained Katie, “many of which operate from people’s homes and are not in a position to employ a full time or even part time assistant.

“That is where I come in. I can take over the tasks that no business owner enjoys, from managing their social media to decluttering, bookkeeping and creating newsletters. Pink Spaghetti exists to take away the legwork from a business owner, releasing more time for them to spend on parts of the business that they love.”

Katie, a former website designer from Southampton, has a wealth of experience and knowledge in project management, along with qualifications in this field.

She re-trained as a teacher and spent five years teaching, before returning to project management in 2016. Her previous employment has given her a whole host of skills to use in her new business venture, including training, IT, marketing and project management. She also has a passion for interior design and is currently renovating her own house.

Following the birth of her daughter Mollie, last year, Katie wanted to start her own business which could work flexibly around her family life. She anticipates that many of her Pink Spaghetti clients will also be working parents, juggling business and domestic tasks throughout the day.

She is really passionate about helping local businesses thrive and making life easier for busy people, and said: “I believe I am unique in that I offer small businesses as many hours of support as they need, without any commitment and ties to a regular contract.”

She added: “Running my own business will be a new challenge, but will give me much greater flexibility. As well as having a better work life balance I am looking forward to helping other busy people achieve this.”
