COMPANIES in Andover can receive free practical advice on how to save money at Basepoint, Andover on 7 October.

Test Valley Borough Council has brought together Envirowise, the Energy Saving Trust and Business Link to give Andover businesses the chance to cut costs and be more competitive.

Energy bills are rising for all companies, oil may be less expensive on the world markets but diesel isn't getting much cheaper and waste and material costs keep rising.

At a similar money-saving day near Portsmouth, one of the businesses who attended has since identified over £6,000 worth of savings. Envirowise' manufacturing and business park expert, Darren Male will run two sessions, one specifically for manufacturers and printers, really focusing on some of the key waste, raw material and energy issues.

The other will be for companies worried about rising costs in their offices and premises.

Darren will be joined by the Energy Saving Trust which can offer advice on travel and transport.

Darren will be available in the afternoon for one to one clinics for anyone who would like to discuss particular issues.
