Lewis giving a passenger ride in a Mercedes-McLaren SLR Coupe at Brooklands a fortnight ago, and inset, celebrating at Silverstone last Sunday.

WHAT A PRIZE! this Sunday Formula 1 World Championship leader Lewis Hamilton will be driving at Goodwood Festival of Speed.

And just seven days after he won the British Grand Prix he will also chauffeur one lucky Sunday ticket holder up the hillclimb in a fabulous Mercedes-McLaren SLR Roadster.

It's a £350,000 car with 617bhp on tap but riding with the hero at the wheel is beyond price.

The fortunate passenger will be anyone 18 or over that has purchased, or is about to buy, a Sunday ticket to the Festival of Speed. A ticket stub will be pulled out at random by Lord March, and whoever has the corresponding ticket number will be advised and get top travel up the hill with Lewis as his or her chauffeur!

Festival of Speed founder Lord March says: "We are all looking forward to a really fabulous weekend with Lewis here. His Silverstone race was the greatest drive of his career so far, and I am absolutely delighted that he is coming to Goodwood to celebrate this famous victory and join in the party atmosphere with his fans, especially the lucky winner of the drive up the hill with him."

Unlike Grand Prix circuits, at the Festival of Speed many fans may be able to get up close to Lewis and personally pass on their congratulations to him on winning the British Grand Prix in extremely challenging conditions at Silverstone last Sunday.

To coincide with the appearance of Lewis at the Festival, Goodwood has been able to release a few more entry tickets, available strictly on a first-come, first-served basis.

These tickets are liable to be snapped up rapidly. The Festival of Speed's unique ability to attract the top works Formula 1 teams is one of its key strengths, with six F1 teams confirmed.

They are reigning constructors champions Scuderia Ferrari, Vodafone McLaren-Mercedes - with Pedro de la Rosa driving on Friday and Saturday - BMW-Sauber, Honda with Jenson Button, Red Bull, and Toyota with test driver Kamai Kobayashi.

Nowhere else in the world can motor racing enthusiasts get so close to the latest and greatest cars and drivers.

There are also touring cars, the rally special stage, motorcycles including Superbike racers and much more.

Be ready to walk to see the best action!
