DID you know you can go to Basingstoke College of Technology one day a week and gain a level two diploma?

The nationally-recognised qualification in interior systems is designed to provide you with the skills, knowledge and appropriate training to enter the construction industry as a ceiling fixer or partitioner.

The interior systems diploma focuses on the following aspects of the trade:

  • access flooring
  • dry lining and cladding
  • suspended ceilings
  • dry lining partitions
  • proprietary partitions
  • folding and sliding partitions
  • jointing and finishing.

You can also get a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) level two at the same time.

The NVQ is a work-based qualification designed to assess competence in a professional role.

Evidence from the workplace is required to support skills and this will be achieved alongside the diploma.

There is also opportunity to achieve key skills qualifications.

For those already working in the industry, there is an experienced worker route that offers a fast-track route to NVQ qualification (a minimum of five years' experience is required).

If you are an employer, training will help encourage and retain your staff and thus enhance business performance.

As an employee, knowing you're achieving your full potential and able to do your job to the best of your ability is a brilliant motivator.

Enrolment takes place on Tuesday, September 2, from 5pm to 8pm at BCOT.
