DESPITE the well-documented downturn in the economy, employers in industrial sectors are still finding it hard to source skilled employees.
In recent years, immigrant workers have often plugged the gap. However, as the cost of living in the UK escalates, many immigrant workers are now leaving our shores and employers are once again finding it difficult to fill positions.
Candidate shortages are rife, particularly in the technical sector, and the situation facing local employers is challenging.
However, all is not lost. To meet this growing demand for technical staff, local recruitment specialist Select Appointments is expanding its thriving industrial offering with the launch of a new technical division.
Historically, Select has enjoyed immense success in the industrial sector and this extension into the technical arena is a natural progression.
Launched in May, the division has already achieved success and has a growing number of vacancies, all with local employers across various disciplines.
The technical division is led by Hannah Jameson, who has worked for Select for over three years and has built up an unrivalled relationship with numerous industrial employers in the Basingstoke and Farnborough areas.
Hannah said: "In the current environment, clients have an acute requirement for specific skill sets.
"At Select, we take the time to understand both our candidate and client needs, and we would strongly encourage candidates with specific technical skills to get in touch.
"We believe that there are many skilled individuals out there who might not realise the extent to which their talents are in demand."
From the offices in Church Street, Basingstoke, Hannah and her team are committed to offering honest and effective technical recruitment solutions.
Specialising in providing temporary, permanent and contract personnel across the technical sector, the team is actively placing candidates on a daily basis.
To utilise your skills and find the job and employer that is right for you, pop into the office in 75 Church Street, call the team on 01256 334575 or e-mail basingstoke@select.co.uk
