EUROPE'S fastest pizza maker, Pali Grewal from Andover, crushed the existing world record at the world title final in America but missed out on the crown by a split second.

Pali sliced 10 seconds off his winning time back in March when he took the UK and Ireland title.

In Ann Arbor, Michigan, he prepared three individual large 13.5ins pepperoni, mushroom and cheese pizzas in 47 seconds, only to be topped by reigning champion Dennis Tran of Silver Springs with a time of 46.4 seconds.

A Domino's Pizza team member for 17 years, Pali says it has always been his dream to win the world title and he is not going to give up. He said: "I'll be training even harder for next year."

I can take up to 30 minutes to make and cook my pizza, plus dough making time on top! They are much nicer (and cheaper) than those mentioned above, and worth the effort put in.

Well done Pali. I hope to sample one of your Pizzas when I'm down later this month.

I might even try one of Victor's humbugs as well.

I must admit the last Pizza I had from a Domino's (not Andover branch) did taste like it took about 15 seconds to make. Maybe there are more speed Pizza makers out there than we've given credit to.
Calling all employees of Domino's!! Your desire to get that abusive drunk out of your branch post haste could land you in the record books. Keep a stopwatch handy at weekends!!
