Make it a cut above the rest

AN urgent review of the borough grass cutting regime has been called for by Overton Borough Councillors Paula Baker (Lib/Dem) and Ian Tilbury (Ind).

Cllr Paula Baker explained: "Last year the purchase of new mowing machines was agreed and we were led to expect an improved appearance. However, during the early part of the current growing season the grass grew extremely quickly and its untidy appearance gave rise to strong criticism from local residents and from Overton Parish Council.

"We are therefore calling on the council to conduct an urgent review of the grass cutting regime to ensure that the service can be more responsive to the weather in future years."
