New style carnival pulls the crowds
THOUSANDS of people lined the streets of Andover
today as the new style carnival paraded from its two separate starting points.
Bridge Street and High Street were filled with cheering onlookers as
jesters, cowboys and indians, and even a Chinese dragon were among the procession being led by a marching band, with the Carnival Prince and Princess in a horse drawn carriage, to where a full programme of music and fun were organised.
Despite some dark clouds at times, the weather remained kind and didn't dampen the spirits of
the revellers.

I co organised a group from my place of work and we all really enjoyed today. There were a few moments of hanging around waiting but as a 1st time of doing it mardi gras style it was fantastic.I did hear a few people moaning but pooh pooh them as you cnt complain if you are not prepared to do something yourself,in my opinion.I for one will enter again next year and would like to say to the Andover commitee a great big "thank you".

fantastic afternoon, a credit to all the organisers and especially ASDA for sponsoring the stage. Hope to see the same enthusiasm from Andover next year
