NEARLY 140 people who signed a petition asking Test Valley Borough Council to take action over the faded road markings in Tintagel Close, Andover, have had their plea answered.
The residents wanted the markings to clearly show parking spaces so cars could avoid parking over more spaces than necessary.
Ward councillors, Janet Whiteley and Phil North, who were presented with the petiton ensured the markings were repainted not only in Tintagel Close but in all of King Arthur's Way.
"I think the lines are very good," said Jenny Hudgell, petition co-ordinator.
"The majority of people use them so there are more places to park. I am pleased I took the time to do the petition and feel that it was worthwhile."
Mr North thinks the action was a great example of direct democracy in action.
"I am delighted that so many people are pleased with our actions, which is obviously a huge issue to the people of Tintagel Close and King Arthur's Way," he said.
The two councillors hope the markings will go some way to help the lack of parking while other measures are put on the council's agenda.

I get a tad upset when I hear things like this and of course the comment mayed by a Cllr that "KAW has not got a parking problem" what time of day did she, if she ever has, visit the eatate.
I am a Community Responder and time is important when I get a call, sometimes my car is at the bottom of the estate and takes that few more minutes to get on the road.
