POLICE investigating a collision at Stockbridge that left a woman with serious injuries are trying to trace a driver who was near the scene at the time. It’s believed an elderly man was driving a red Suzuki Alto along the A30 between the two roundabouts outside the town shortly before the collision at 10.25am, Wednesday, 7 November. A red Vauxhall Corsa heading towards Andover collided with a horse lorry travelling in the opposite direction. The Corsa driver, a 67-year-old woman from Southampton, suffered serious head injuries. She was taken to Southampton General Hospital where she remains in a critical condition.

Sergeant Andy Tester from the Whitchurch Roads Policing unit said: “A witness has told us that there was a red Suzuki Alto driven by an elderly man that drove form King's Somborne to the A30 at Stockbridge. “It would have left the scene of the collision shortly beforehand and it’s possible the driver may have been unaware of what happened. “I would like to hear from that driver, or anyone who knows the person, to come forward so we can establish whether or not they were involved in the collision.” Anyone with information is asked to contact Sgt Tester at the Whitchurch Roads Policing unit, quoting Operation Muirfield, on 101 or the anonymous Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
