Scouting for new recruits
10:00am Saturday 17th November 2012 in News
SCOUTING is returning to Ludgershall for the first time since the 1990s.
Based at the Ludgershall Memorial Hall, the new group will be known as the 5th Wiltshire B-P Scout Group and will provide traditional Scouting in the Ludgershall, Tidworth, Collingbourne and surrounding area.
Organisers say vacancies exist for young people from age six to 18 to enjoy a complete Scouting adventure with a wide variety of outdoor and adventure activities including camping, hill walking, archery, woodcraft, climbing, craft and first aid.
Colin Stevens Group Scoutmaster said: “Ludgershall is a rapidly growing town not served by many national organisations.
“Since we first looked into the need for Scouting in the local area we were overwhelmed by the level of interest and support shown by the townspeople.
The new group goes live on Monday with – Mondays: Cubs 6-7.30pm. Tuesdays: Beavers 5.30-7pm. Thursdays: Scouts and Senior Scouts 7- 9pm. To register for a place go to 5thWiltshire.com or visit on any section night.
