THE final of Fairplay is fast approaching as the Andover youth gig series’ heats come to a close.

With one more night of musical competition remaining before the series final at The Lights, the anticipation continues to build.

Fairplay is a partnership project made up of Valley Leisure, Harrow Way Community School, The Edge Project and Anton Road Recording Studios, which will deliver three separate gigs by the end of November, increasing community access into a variety of local community venues.

Nicki Grimison, Fairplay coordinator said: “Our whole objective is for this to be a young person’s project, from the acts to the young people doing our media, we also have young people aged 12-21 on our judging panel.

“This is a real community project run with very little money, where the support of people buying tickets helps run the event.”

Young bands and musicians aged 12 to 21 were invited to apply for the gig series with prizes up for grabs including a day of recording at Anton Road Studio, having their single uploaded onto iTunes for general sale, an album photo shoot day and much more.

Tickets are available for the final heat at Harrow Way School on November 17 and for the final at The Lights on December 1 and can be purchased on the Fairplay website at fairplayandover.co.uk.
