MEDIA and communications specialist, Khalid Aziz has taken his place as chairman of trustees at the disability charity Enham.

Professor Aziz lives just a few miles from Enham Alamein at St Mary Bourne.

He brings to the charity a wealth of experience in media and business communications and organisational development.

He is chairman of The Aziz Corporation and Naomi House children’s hospice and a deputy lieutenant of Hampshire.

He said: “I would like to make Enham a watchword for independence, choice and control for disabled people to help them lead the lives they choose.

“I look forward to working with the wider community to help bring this about.

“External funding and fundraising pressures mean it will have to adapt to a new world.

“As we make this transition I am determined that we maintain and strengthen the vital work we do in supporting disabled people in every aspect of their lives.”

Chairman of trustees, Peta Wilkinson, Enham’s CEO said: “Khalid is skilled and experienced in managing change through complex and challenging times.

“He therefore brings to Enham the ability to see opportunities for the organisation to grow, to attract new supporters and raise the profile of the charity.

Enham supports more than 4,000 disabled adults in their journey towards independent living, offering choices in care, accommodation, education and employment.
