DESPITE a reduction in overall crime levels, Wiltshire Police says there has been an increase in the number of violent crimes being reported.
Tidworth’s police chief, Inspector Christian Lange, said: “About half of these crimes are linked to reports of domestic abuse where the victims often suffer in silence.
“Wiltshire Police, Wiltshire Council and partner agencies have, over the past years, encouraged people to come forward to report such crimes so that preventative measures can be put in place to reduce future crimes taking place.”
