A TRIO of new shops in Andover have bucked the trend, bringing a spot of glamour to the town.

Shops At Last, At Home and The Dress Boutique all opened last week, with MPs Caroline Nokes and Sir George Young cutting the ribbons to welcome them to the town.

At Last – which has been selling ladies’ wear and accessories in Andover for the past ten years – has moved into larger premises at the top of the High Street, in the former Pramery building, along with sister store At Home, which sells luxury goods for the home. They are both owned by Annabel Drabble.

The Dress Boutique, owned by Louise Ellison, has opened in the former premises of At Last, offering ladies’ evening gowns, prom dresses and accessories.

Louise said: “It’s a big step moving my business into town, as the overheads are much higher, but the High Street location will provide increased footfall, and will be much more convenient for my customers to be able to call in during their lunch break.

“With no other shops in the town doing what I do, the response so far has been really positive.”
