HIGHWAYS chiefs have promised they will get to the root cause of the flooding problems which caused traffic chaos in Andover this week.
On Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, Northern Avenue – the town’s main ring road – was shut off intermittently due to flooding near the point where the River Anton flows under the carriageway.
Speculation that overdevelopment in the area, which used to house springfed watercress beds, is discounted as a direct issue by the authorities though.
