AN ANNA Valley resident will be keeping a close eye on the music charts this Christmas as I Wish For You The World by the Games Makers Choir aims for top spot.

Marcia Johnson assisted at the London 2012 Olympics as a Games maker before joining the Games Makers Choir .

With the help of singer and songwriter Alistair Griffin, the choir of volunteers have released their charity single in time for Christmas.

Marcia said: “At the end of my time at the Olympic Games, I returned back to Andover and to my day job with a serious case of Olympic blues.

“I thought that my Olympic journey would end there, but I was wrong. About a month later, Alistair Griffin contacted us and asked if we would like to record a charity single.

“The whole experience was amazing and it’s great that I am able to keep that buzz and excitement going with my involvement in the choir.”

Decca Records released I Wish For You The World on 16 December and it has been backed by Team GB rowers who have also joined in with the singing.
