ANDOVER schoolchildren gathered beside one of the town’s busiest roads to voice their Christmas wish for a pedestrian crossing.
About 30 children and their parents – wearing Santa hats and holding placards – staged the protest at the junction of Weyhill Road and The Avenue on Tuesday.
The protesters are asking Hampshire County Council to help protect Andover’s children by creating a safe crossing between the nearby schools and nurseries.
The county council has told the Advertiser that it will carry out a feasibility study to find out what measures may help.
