TWO burglars who forced their way into a home near Grateley in the hours of darkness attacked the middle- aged householder and left him with head injuries.

The man was hit after the intruders demanded money.

Detectives are appealing for information following the aggravated burglary at the property in Cholderton Road at 10.45pm on Wednesday, 12 December.

The offenders left the scene with two laptops.

The 53-year-old victim required hospital treatment.

Both suspects are black, aged between 25 and 30 and are around 6ft 4ins tall.

One man was wearing dark clothing and a hat and the second man was slimmer than the first suspect.

Detective Constable Rob Harrington from Andover CID said: “I would like to speak to anyone who was in the area of Cholderton Road and the Shire Horse Public House on the evening of Wednesday, 12 December and who saw any suspicious people or vehicles.

“I’d also like anyone who has heard information about this crime to come forward.”

Two other house burglaries took place in the rural area south of Andover on the same day in which electrical items were taken but at the moment police are not linking them with this crime.
