Local MP to be PM's adviser

PRIME Minister David Cameron has announced that local MP Claire Perry will become his adviser on preventing the sexualisation and commercialisation of childhood Mrs Perry said: “I am absolutely delighted that the Prime Minister has asked me to be his adviser on preventing the commercialisation and sexualisation of childhood. “I am very much looking forward to helping the Government introduce more robust filters for internet content in our homes, working to improve age rating information on music videos, helping to improve education for parents and children about online safety and making sure the other excellent recommendations of the Bailey Report are implemented.” Mrs Perry’s Devizes constituency includes the Ludgershall and Tidworth area.

Claire Perry would be well advised to remember at all times that Internet filtering of any sort is - and rightly should be - the responsibility of parents and NOT the Government.

Failure to recognise this basic fact will mean she is doomed to failure.
