Police are appealing for witnesses after the lock of a green Vauxhall Vectra was found with damage after the car had been left locked and secure at Danebury Ring Hill Fort in Stockbridge. The owner parked the vehicle at the location while he went for a walk around the hill between 12.30pm and 1pm on Saturday, 5 January .
No entry was gained to the car and the offenders may have been disturbed.
PC Roger Kitson from Stockbridge police station said: "This area is a popular spot for dog walkers and would have been very busy at this time on a Saturday afternoon. "I'd like to hear from anyone that was in the area at the time and saw anything suspicious."
Anyone with information should contact PC Kitson at Stockbridge police station on 101.
