AN Andover drop-in centre providing guidance and advice for young people has won an award for its efforts in recent months.

The chief executive of the Alabare Christian Care charity called in at The Junction in Andover to present the award to staff who have boosted use of the facility.

Charles Taylor, an employment adviser at The Junction, said: “The Inspire award was presented to the centre to recognise the efforts of people here who go beyond and above the call of duty.

“We provide information, advice and guidance to people in the 13 to 25 age group and have an Internet cafe and drop-in centre.”

He said The Junction now attracts about 150 young people each week.

Alabare Christian Care runs more than 40 establishments across southern England.
