THE Hawk Conservancy Trust has received a late Christmas present that will enable new rehabilitation aviaries to be built at its National Bird of Prey Hospital.

A generous donation from the senior members of the Wycombe Heights Golf Club has been used to match funding pledged by grant-makers Plain Action.

These funds will enable the building of eight treatment bays and four free-flying rehabilitation aviaries. There will also be an opportunity for visitors to gain an insight into the work of the hospital with the installation of CCTV cameras.

Andy Hinton, curator at the Weyhill-based trust, said: “We are thrilled to be the recipients of this funding. It is going to have an enormous impact on our work caring for sick, injured and orphaned birds of prey. It will also give us the opportunity to let visitors see more of the work of the hospital and follow the progress of its patients.”
