Man assaulted in Andover

POLICE are appealing for information after a man was assaulted in Andover.

At some time between 1.30am and 2.25am last Friday (18 January) the 24-year-old victim was in London Street when he was approached by the offender. He was then punched, causing a cut to his lip.

The victim attended Salisbury Hospital where he received five stitches.

The man police want to speak to is described as white, about 5ft 7ins, of a proportionate build, with short dark hair and wearing a white shirt with a collar and smart black trousers.

Pc Patrick Coveney said: "We know that there were a number of people in the area at the time of the incident. I would urge these people to come forward and tell us what they saw.

“I would also urge anyone with any other information to come forward and speak to us and help us find the person responsible."
