STOCKBRIDGE residents will shortly learn more about plans to build 46 homes at nearby Longstock.

David Wilson Homes and Aster Homes are behind the scheme next to Test Valley School.

Stockbridge Parish Councillor and Test Valley borough councillor Janet Whiteley said: “I would like to see an established need before this development is progressed any further.” And on Monday (January 28) there is a public consultation exercise at Stockbridge Town Hall between 1pm and 7.30pm.

David Wilson Homes say the proposed development which will be a mix of rented and to buy properties will be north of Roman Road and the exhibition will include a draft display of what the scheme will look like.

It includes parking and better bus access scheme for Test Valley School. Julian Jones from David Wilson Homes said he’d welcome public comment and feedback prior to the scheme being finalised.

He said there will be an opportunity to discuss the plans with both David Wilson Homes and social housing provider Aster which will manage the rented homes.

Details of the scheme are due to be posted on the web at www.dwhsotoncommuinty.co.uk by 30 January.
