A WOMAN was mugged of £300 as she walked in Andover.

The 47-year-old victim was walking along the footpath at the end of Anton Mill Road between 10.30pm and 10.45pm on Saturday, 26 January.

As she was walking she was pushed over onto the floor and the offender then stole her handbag.

The handbag contained £300 in cash, a mobile phone and a purse, while the victim suffered minor injuries.

Detective Constable Rob Harrington said: “I am appealing for anyone who was in the Anton Mill Road area of Andover on the night of the robbery to come forward and speak to us.

“Did you see anyone acting suspiciously or did you see anyone running away from the footpath?

“I would urge anyone with information to contact us at the earliest opportunity.”
