A PROJECT aiming to improve areas for wildlife by restoring and reconnecting important wildlife habitats in the area is on the lookout for volunteers.
Keen volunteers are required to help with butterfly surveys this spring and summer in north-west Hampshire.
The Winning Ways for Wildlife project is a three-year partnership project between the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust, Butterfly Conservation, and the Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust, supported by Natural England, DCLG and DEFRA.
They are looking to carry out butterfly surveys of key sites within the project area, and in addition, look for suitable Duke of Burgundy habitat, a threatened butterfly species which has a few strongholds in the area.
A training day will be held on Saturday, 16 March, at Ecchinswell village hall.
