RUNNERS and helpers are needed for an annual race.
Hurstbourne 5’s multi-terrain race will take place on Saturday, 27 April.
The fifth off-road race starts in the village of Hurstbourne Tarrant and follows parts of the Test Way through woods and farmland, into the heart of the North Wessex Downs.
All proceeds raised will go to Andover Young Carers and the HBT Community Hall Fund.
It will start at George V Playing Fields, in Church Street, at 11am, with runners assembling at 10.50am for the race briefing.
There will be prizes for the first three males, the first three females, the first MV40, MV50, MV60, WV35, WV45, WV55, first villager and the king and queen of the hill.
The minimum age on race day is 15.
Unfortunately, the hilly course is not suitable for wheelchairs, bicycles, pushchairs or prams and the layout prohibits participation by walkers or runners with dogs. Under UKA rules, headphones are not permitted.
A fun run of 2K will start at 11.05am, which is free to enter, but donations are welcome.
Runners can apply by post to Hurstbourne 5, The Old Saddlery, Church Street, Hurstbourne Tarrant, Hants, SP11 0AX. The closing date is 15 April. Please include a 9x4”
stamped, self-addressed envelope.
Entries are welcome until 30 minutes before the start.
Helpers are also needed for the race, including marshals, supporters, first aiders, cake bakers and tea and coffee makers.
