ICKNIELD School held two topic days which involved all the students examining various branches of science.
Each classroom was transformed into a laboratory showcasing a specific science and students accessed them individually using their ‘swipe cards’ provided by the Icknield Institute of Scientific Investigation.
The students turned their hands to a number of experiments including, ‘Solids, Liquids and Smells’, ‘Hocus Pocus Potions’, ‘Forces’, ‘Floating and Sinking’, ‘Marvellous Materials’, ‘Changes’, ‘Forensic Investigation’, and ‘The Five Senses’.
Everyday objects which the students could find at home and experiment further with were used.
Headteacher, Sharon Ghiacy, who joined in the activities by posing as the lead professor of the Icknield Institute of Scientific Investigation, said: “Our pupils have had great fun learning about the world around them through these science topics – we’ve had a fantastic two days of learning and enjoying.”
