HAMPSHIRE Fire and Rescue Service is looking for people who want to become on-call firefighters in the Overton area.
There are currently vacancies at Overton fire station and the hunt is on to find people to help deal with everything from fires and road accidents, to floods and vital community work.
Aspiring firefighters receive full training, gain new skills and get paid while providing an essential service for the community.
Watch manager Paul Allen said: “We currently have a number of exciting vacancies at our station for people who can provide cover during the day time.
“This could be ideal for people working from home or locally whose employer is understanding and could release them from work, also shift workers or parents who have some time during the day whilst the children are at school.
“If you think you might be interested or want to find out a bit more, come along to one of our training evenings to see if this exciting job would suit you.
“Often people feel that they would not be suitable or cannot provide enough cover but if you don’t come in, you’ll never know!
“You could be just what we are looking for. If you live or work within four minutes of the fire station and have some spare time during the day, drop in and have a chat with one of our firefighters.
“They will be happy to answer any questions and it will be a great opportunity to find out first-hand what the job involves.”
