Osteopath off to help in Kenya
11:00am Tuesday 27th August 2013 in News
A STOCKBRIDGE osteopath will help orphaned children in the slums of Kenya.
Emma Wightman will once again go on the humanitarian expedition with the Divinity Foundation – a voluntary charity that provides medical care for orphaned and abandoned children and impoverished families.
She will leave Stockbridge Osteopathic Practice on 22 September and will be working in the slums of Kibera – one of the most deprived areas of Nairobi – for the first week. The team will then move to Amboseli in the south of Kenya for the second week where they will set up clinics under the acacia trees to treat the travelling tribes.
The trip is completely selffunded in order for the volunteers to provide free medication and healthcare to the women and children that the charity supports.
