Dad runs marathon in memory of Isabel

A SUPERFIT father has run his first Triathlon in memory of his stillborn daughter.
Mike Donnelly, brand manager of Heritage Salisbury VW and sponsor of Andover Triathlon Club, completed the Newbury Triathlon in tribute to his daughter Isabel.
Mike’s wife Louise was taken ill with pre-eclampsia 18 years ago while pregnant with their first child.
On 21 April, 1995, Isabel Jade was born but sadly she had died, and Mike and Louise’s lives had changed forever.
The charity SANDS, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity, helped them through a very dark time.
Mike and Louise went on to have three more beautiful daughters and said they feel very lucky to have such a great family.
Because Isabel would have been 18 this year, Mike thought it would be great to give something back to SANDS, who helped him and Louise realise they were not alone.
Mike completed the triathlon on 1 September andmanaged to beat his target time of 1.45, finishing in an impressive 1.36.
Mike said: “I would like to thank all of those people who have sponsored me so far, andfor the support I receivedon the day from family and friends, including all of the club members that made the early start to Newbury to wish me well – but most of all to my wife Louise for believing in me.”
So far Mike has raised over £600 for SANDS. To read more about Mike’s story or to make a donation visit justgiving.com/Mike-Donnelly1.
