11:00am Saturday 21st September 2013 in News
WORK has started on the replacement of Waterloo Bridge in Stockbridge on Monday and is expected to last between 10 to 12 weeks.
Stockbridge High Street will remain open to all traffic but with a restricted width of a single lane controlled by traffic signals.
During phase one of the project, pedestrians will be required to use a pedestrian phase of the traffic signals to cross using the carriageway.
During construction phase two pedestrians will be able to use a temporary foot bridge on the north side of the bridge together with a pedestrian phase of the signals.
