10:00am Tuesday 24th September 2013 in News
STARTING secondary school can seem like a daunting prospect, but the Clere School made the transition easier with a couple of eventful settlingin days.
The first day saw the new Year 7 pupils start the school as the only pupils in the buildings and on their second day they were whisked off to Adventure Dolphin in Pangbourne to participate in a bonding day.
Pupils were involved in rafting, team building exercises and kayaking.
Headteacher, Felicity Martin, said: “All of the teachers at The Clere have made positive comments about the new Year 7 pupils and what a pleasure they are to teach.
“They have already made a great impression at The Clere”.
Head of Year 7, Matt Finnigan, said: “My tutor team and I look forward to working with our new intake for the next five years.
“I feel they are ready for Year 8 already as they have settled in so well.”
