ARCHERY proved to be a big hit at the Whitchurch Silk Mill as visitors were given the chance to take aim with bow and arrow.
Overton Black Arrows ran the Archery Give It A Go sessions in the grounds at the Mill from 2pm on Saturday with the public taking on the ancient yet modern Olympic sport.
Three arrows costed just £1 with all money raised going towards the Whitchurch Town Christmas lights appeal and a prize was awarded to the highest scorer on the day.
Club coaches including chairman Eric Dunlop and Maurice Berridge were on hand to offer their advice and expertise to around 25 visitors who took part in the sessions.
Eric said: “Many members of the public came and took part and watched and 25 people had a go at the sport. It was enjoyed by all the families and we had a tie for the top shot on the day.”
