£500 boost for work initiative
10:00am Tuesday 24th September 2013 in News
A NEW initiative to help young adults with learning disabilities work in the community on projects to benefit others has benefitted from a ward-based community budget scheme.
Get A Flexi Life received a cheque for £500 from St Mary’s Ward Councillor Iris Andersen. This money will help young adults from Icknield FE College to arrange Christmas entertainment for residents at Mulberry House in Andover.
Get A Flexi Life aims to help people with disabilities acquire work-based skills in a social, secure and fun environment – and by means of the unique Flexi Life app which runs on Kindle Fires (which are given to learners) and uses technology to consolidate learning 24/7.
Anyone interested in becoming a Flexi Life learner, or knows of anyone who would benefit from joining Get a Flexi Life, should call 07880 694299 or 07796 569618 or go to getaflexilife.co.uk to find out more.
